Editorial Policy and Methodology
Purpose
SimpleReturns publishes educational content for beginner investors. Content is designed to explain planning concepts and tool usage in plain language.
Content is not personalized investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice.
Content types
- Experience-based posts: Personal process and behavioral lessons. These are clearly marked by category and context.
- Source-based posts: Structure-level educational guides that rely on official public sources for factual frameworks.
- Tool-linked explainers: Posts that connect concepts to SimpleReturns calculators and tracker workflows.
Source and verification approach
- For factual or YMYL topics, we prefer official institutions and primary documentation.
- When a claim needs verification and a source has not been confirmed yet, a TODO placeholder is left until verified.
- Source links are included in post-level "Sources / Methodology / Further reading" blocks.
Update policy
- Posts include visible last-updated dates.
- Updates are triggered by major rule changes, tool updates, and content-quality reviews.
- Archive and homepage listings are synchronized from a shared posts data source.
Reader scope notes
SimpleReturns aims to help readers build structured plans, understand tradeoffs, and run educational scenarios.
Readers should verify current country-specific rules directly with official sources or qualified professionals before acting on decisions that affect taxes, legal status, or personal portfolios.
